1. Kleiner Farms

Directions to Farm: Traveling west on Starrs Rd, take a right onto Hwy 1. Turn left onto Dayton Road (3km). Farm located 1km on the left.

Activities: Two pasture tours to see livestock and pasture rotation, lunchtime BBQ.

2. Watershed Farm
Farm Type: Mixed vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers and livestock
Address: 768 Allen Frausel Road
County: Lunenburg
Directions to Farm: Take exit 13 off the 103 and proceed away from Bridgewater towards Baker Settlement. Follow this road for about 13km through Newcombville and look for the sign for Baker Settlement then turn right at the T intersection onto the Monk Road and follow it to the second T intersection which is Allen Frausel Road. You will turn right onto Allen Frausel Road which is gravel and will go a short distance past one small house on the left side and then see our driveway just beyond that house. Park along the road or in the parking area and proceed up the hill to the very top where the tours will begin at the barn.

Activities: Visitors will get to see our strawbale buildings, wind generator and solar panels, tour our gardens and greenhouses, meet our chickens and see our bee operation and workshop space where we conduct educational programs, workshops and events all aimed at bringing people into greater connection with nature and sustainable living and farming practices. We pay special attention to seed saving at the farm and have an enormous range of heirloom tomatoes and many small fruit plantings as well as nut and fruit trees.

3. LaHave River Berry Farm Inc.

Directions to Farm: Coming from Lunenburg take Grimms Settlement Road, when you get to the river turn left, look for sign in the front yard. Coming from Riverport take Hwy 332 towards Bridgewater, look for sign in the front yard. Coming from Bridgewater take Hwy 332 towards Riverport, look for sign in the front yard.
Hours: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Activities: We will be giving tours of our haskap berry orchard, flower gardens and answering questions.

4. Terra Beata Farms
Farm Type: Cranberry
Address: 161 Monk Point Rd, Heckman’s Island

Directions to Farm: Drive from Lunenburg towards Blue Rocks. After 2km turn left onto Heckman’s Island. After 1km turn right onto Monk Point Road, farm is the first driveway on the left after 0.5km.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Activities: Free guided walking tours of the bog as well as the berry cleaning line and our “cranberry kitchen” processing facility. Free cranberry appetizers for sampling.

5. Lunenburg County Winery at Hatmatack Farm

Directions to Farm: Hwy 103 inland 24km to Newburne, from exit 11 through Cornwallis, right on Walburne road, 1st right driveway. Close to Indian Fall Park.
Hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Activities: Blueberry uPick, wine tasting, winery tours (9am, 1pm,3pm), whales lake, vineyard walk @ 10am.

6. Maplewood Maple Syrup & Christmas Tree Farm
Farm Type: Maple syrup, Christmas trees and woodlot management

Directions to Farm: Hwy 103- exit 11- North to Maplewood #2819. From New Ross threw the forties turn left at Parkdale to Maplewood #2819

Activities: View sugar shack, samples of maple products, wagon rides, view award winning woodlot

7. Meister Field and Forest Ltd.
Farm Type: Beef, produce, forestry
Address: 379 Glengarry Road
County: Lunenburg
Directions to Farm: Coming from Hwy 103, drive 20 minutes on Route 12 and the road is on the left. Coming from Hwy 101, drive 30 minutes, past Ross Farm Museum and the road is on the right. Look for a red barn and a grey house on top of a hill.
Hours: 12 p.m.- 4 p.m.
Activities: We will be offering farm tours and also offering farm demonstrations.

8. Dempsey Corner Orchards
Farm Type: u-Pick and Farm

Directions to Farm: North off Hwy 101 Exit 16, turn right onto Hwy 221, 1.8km on north side of Hwy 221 – follow the signs!
Hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Activities: Petting zoo, retail shop, restaurant & tearoom, u-Pick, walking trails, weekend wagon rides ($)

9. Eden Valley Poultry
Farm Type: Chicken and turkey processor
Address: 326 Main Street, Berwick
County: Kings
Directions to Farm: Take Hwy 101 to exit #15. Turn south into Berwick. Turn west (right) at the first stop sign. Continue west on Main Street until you come to the plant. Park on the south side of the road and walk across at the crosswalk.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Activities: Visitors will get to watch a video and go on a tour of the plant. Visitors are required to wear closed-toe shoes. You will be asked to remove jewelry for the tour. 

10. Blueberry Acres & Country Magic Produce
Farm Type: Blueberry u-Pick and fresh produce
Address: 1225 Middle Dyke Road, Centreville

Directions to Farm: North off Hwy 101 at Exit 12; go through 3 sets of lights; a stop sign at Church St; a 2nd stop sign at Canard St, left for 100ft, then turn right, for approximately ½ a km.
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Activities: Farm bus tour at 2pm, blueberry field tours all day. Join the bus tour around our farms to learn about the crops we grow and how we do it (approx. 1 hour, limited seating) Jump on the bus to tour the blueberry bushes and more! Free ice cream for children under 12. Vegetable boxes available to purchase. Kids activities: colouring contest and photo booth. Plus much more!

11. Taproot Farms
Farm Type: Mixed Farm

Directions to Farm: Exit 11 off Hwy 101. Right turn from ramp. Straight through lights to Hwy 358. Right turn onto Church Street.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Activities: Wagon rides, farm market, animal viewing, pond walk, u-Pick tomatoes, labyrinth, Jamaican jerk pork and corn boil.

12. Wood’n’Hive Honey

Directions to Farm: Take exit 11 off Hwy 101, travel to Port Williams, left onto Starrs Point Road.
Hours: 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Activities: Wood’n’Hive Honey is an operating bee farm. There will be static hive displays, an observation hive, honey extractions, bee gardens and tasting all day. The retail shop has a complete selection of honey, candies, lip balms, lotion bars, food wraps, candles and so much more.

13. Elderkin’s Farm Market

14. Grand Pre Wines

Hours: 11 a.m – 6 p.m
Activities: Free vineyard tour and tasting for those 19 and older at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

15. Baldwin’s Nurseries

Activities: Everyone is welcome to come and have a tour of our five-acre nursery. Cold water and washroom available. Learn how to plant anything that grows here.

16. Meander River Farm

17. Four Seasons Farm

Activities: Guided and self-guided tours, kids activities, lunch all day, adult scavenger hunt, veggies and herbs for sale all day.

18. Cochrane Family Farm
Farm Type: Certified organic vegetable, seed and herbs

County: Colchester
Directions to Farm: From New Glasgow take Exit 20 on to the 289W and from Hwy 102 take the Brookfield exit #12 and drive 26km up the 289E.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Activities: We will be offering tours of the greenhouses, raised beds, gardens, seed production areas. View over 130 varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers we grow. Demonstrations on seed saving and soil building. Our farm market will be open, coffee, tea, baked goods available and a picnic area will be provided. Lots of organic certified products available for purchase as well.

19. Sugar Moon Farm

Directions to Farm: From Truro, take Hwy 311 towards Tatamagouche for 20km, sugar moon on left. From Tatamagouche, head down 311 towards Truro for 20km, sugar moon on right.

Activities: Free tours of the sugar camp to see how we make our wood-fired maple syrup and hear how we’ve created a small-farm business out here in Earltown at 11am, 1pm and 3pm! All day maple breakfast (menu on website) in our log dining room. Beautiful hiking trails, and a little maple shop. “Sugar on snow” hot maple syrup poured on crushed ice and rolled on a stick – an iconic sugar camp treat for $2/stick. Offered at 12pm and 2pm.  

21. Vista Bella Farm
Farm Type: Orchard, Apiary and u-Pick

Directions to Farm: From Tatamagouche, take route 6 for 10km, turn right onto Malagash road (beside car lot) continue for 2km, at the fork continue down Malagash road for 3km farm will be on the left. From Wallace, take route 6 for 8km, turn left onto Malagash road and continue for 5km, farm will be on the left.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Activities: u-Pick, honeybee observatory, cider tasting (hard and soft), orchard tour (every half hour). Learn about apple varieties, view honeybees in glass observatory, pick apples and small fruit.

22.Wsymykal Farm
Farm Type: Organic mixed vegetables, organic vegetable baskets, market garden

Directions to Farm: From Amherst, take Highway 366 towards the shore. Turn right onto the Chapman Settlement Road. We are about 2km from the shore. Look for greenhouses on the left
Hours: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Activities: Tours of the farm by the owners. Veggies to taste. A BBQ afterwards for those interested.

23.Nicnat Farm
Farm Type: Beef, u-Pick Strawberries, mixed livestock
Address: 5312 Hwy 366, Amherst
County: Cumberland
Directions to Farm: From Amherst take Route 366 25 km, farm is on your right.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Activities: Come tour our farm! Animals include beef cows, pigs, chickens, ducks and donkeys. Meet the farmers and see our seasonal strawberry u-pick and veggie garden.

24. Lismore Sheep Farm
Farm Type: Sheep and Beef
Address: 1389 Louisville Road, River John
County: Pictou
Directions to Farm: Farm is on Louisville road, just of Hwy 6, west of River John. From Truro take Hwy 311 to Earltown, turn right onto Hwy 326, continue through Denmark, watch for our signs.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Activities: Barn is open with sheep and lambs to see. Displays with the story about sheep and wool. Wool crafts to try. Highland cows in the field. Free wagon rides. Wool shop open.

25. Seafoam Lavender Farm
Farm Type: Lavender
Address: 3768 Hwy 6, Seafoam
County: Pictou
Directions to Farm: Halfway between Pictou and Tatamagouche (22km West of Pictou; 29 km East of Tatamagouche). Corner of Highway 6 and the Hedgeville Road.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Activities: Please join us for a fun-filled, educational experience for the whole family. Learn all about growing lavender and how we make 67 artisanal products on-site. “Lavender 101” Presentations given all day, every 30 minutes. Due to health department and insurance restrictions, pets are not permitted on the farm.

26. Marshdale Farms
Farm Type: Flower farm
Address: 2731 White Hill Road, Hopewell
County: Pictou
Directions to Farm: Approximately 15 minutes from Stellarton: head South on S Foord St. (away from New Glasgow), turn right on to Marshdale Road (across from Hopewell Post Office), continue to follow pavement onto White Hill Road. Destination will be on your right. Parking along the roadside, or on the Culloden Road just past the fields.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Activities: In our third year of flower growing, we invite you to come visit our boutique flower farm and meet our flower farmer! Learn about the history of our farm and how we grow cut flowers on a small scale. Free tours on the hour, take photos among our flowers, browse our sale table. For insurance purposes we ask that you wear closed-toe shoes and no pets are allowed. Site is not wheelchair friendly.

27. West River Holsteins

Directions to Farm: 8 km past hospital in Antigonish (from Main Street take hwy 337 to Harbour Centre) Farm is on the left-hand side. Farm sign at the end of driveway.
Hours: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Activities: Join us at our dairy facility for a tour, with static displays, and activities for the kids. Guided tours every 30 minutes; (2pm, 2:30pm, 3pm & 3:30pm) but visit throughout the scheduled hours for self-guided tours and displays.

28. Simply Ducky Farm
Farm Type: Hobby Farm
Address: 365 Southside Harbour Road, Antigonish
County: Antigonish
Directions to Farm: Take exit 35 off the Trans-Canada Hwy and turn North onto the Southside Harbour road for 2km. We’re located on the left, second house after the train tracks.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Activities: Meet and greet the goats with the kids, pet a potato, and hold a baby quail. Take a guided tour of a small family-scale farming operation and learn what you need to know costs, requirements, benefits) to safely raise your own chicken, pork, keeping goats for milk, as well as sheep (lamb) and quail. A selection of farm and local products will be available for sample and purchase.

29. Mamie’s Alpacas

Directions to Farm: Hwy 105 turn on Glendale Mountain Road. Glendale, take an immediate left on MacEachern Road, drive on gravel road for appx 150-200 metres, turn right at 84 MacEachern – Mamies Alpacas

Activities: Walk with alpacas in the field.

30. Lake Mabou Farms Ltd.
Farm Type: Dairy Farm
Address: 724 Mabou Harbour Road, Mabou
County: Inverness
Directions to Farm: In the heart of Mabou, turn north off of Rte 19 onto Mabou Harbour/Coal Mines Rd and towards St. Mary’s Catholic Church. We are 3.5km past the church (stay on the pavement) and on the right-hand side.
Hours: 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Activities: Tour our dairy barn and interact with the calves. View the cows being milked at 5pm. Hike to our top pasture for a great view of Mabou.

31. Guneden Place
Farm Type: Diversified organic farm

Directions to Farm: Use Trans Canada (Hwy 105) Take exit 9, at the end of the ramp turn north. After 4km you cross the gray bridge over Baddeck River. Right after the bridge stay to the right – West Side Baddeck Road. After 4.5km you reach Guneden Place.
Hours: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Activities: Visit a highland cattle herd, beekeeping operation including honey extraction, wine grapes wineyard,and indoor vertical farm for microgreens.

32. Thyme for Ewe Farm

Directions to Farm: From Sydney Exit 16 off the 105, turn right onto the Millville Highway, turn right onto King Grove Road, farm is 4.0km up on the right. From Baddeck, take exit 16 off the 105, turn left onto the Millville highway, turn right onto King Grove Road, farm is 4.0km up on the right.
Hours: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Activities: Farm tours, we will be showing people around the farm, and answering their questions

33. Stokdijk Greenhouses Ltd.
Farm Type: Hydroponic Vegetable Greenhouse

Directions to Farm: From Hwy 102 take exit 14. Travel west (away from Truro) on Hwy 236. Enjoy the picturesque 10k drive to our greenhouse.
Hours: Open 1pm to 5pm. Guided tours available every 30 minutes. Educational activities and games from 1-5pm. Shop open with our selection of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers for purchase.
Activities: Visit our family’s 62 year old hydroponic greenhouse. See Canada’s most common method of growing tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers. Learn about how we control bugs in the greenhouse, how our plants grow to be over 25’ tall, and how we manage water on our farm. Educational tour and activities provided by our farm educators. Guided tours catered to the ages and interests of guests by our farm educator.

34. Sullivans Family Farm

Hours: 11am-2pm
Activities: Farm tours, wagon rides, farm sales table of products/goodies including ice cream, face painting / balloon animals. Professional country portraits & Taco Stiles Food Truck will be attending serving up “Sullivans Specials”. Debit/credit available at our sales table… the rest of the event is CASH ONLY except Mountain Primitive Photography will/can accept e-transfers for portraits. *Hands on animal interaction provided when available*

35. Bayview Dairy Farm

County: Inverness
Directions to Farm: Located on Rte 19 next to Dalbrae Academy. Coming from Whycocomagh or Inverness, go through the village of Mabou and past Dalbrae, next driveway on left. From Port Hood, go past West Mabou Rd turn off and first driveway on right.
Hours: 12pm-3pm
Activities: Tour our dairy facility and interact with animals. Static displays and guided tours throughout the day. View operation of the farms robotic milking system throughout the day.

36. Hampton Farms
Farm Type: Alpaca
Address: 8742 Highway 2, Southampton
County: Cumberland
Directions to Farm: From Amherst, take Hwy 302 south for approx. 20 minutes. Or, from Springhill, take Hwy 2 south-west for 15 minutes. Or, from Parrsboro, take Hwy 2 north for 20 minutes.
Hours: 10am-4pm
Activities: During the day (at random times) there will demonstrations of alpaca fibre processing, including skirting and carding. Herd health day will be demonstrated at 1:00 p.m., including body scoring and monthly immunization. Alpaca fibre products will be available for sale.

37. Moorbern Farm
Farm Type: Mixed
Address: 1438 Highway 236, Scotch Village
County: Hants
Directions to Farm: From Halifax on Hwy 101 west , take exit 4 St.Croix. At the bottom of the ramp turn right onto Hwy 1. Continue for a few kms and turn left onto Hwy 215. Signs for Smiley Provincial Park and Stanley Airport. Drive approx 5-10 minutes. Look for the large Brooklyn Fire Department on your left, and veer right up the hill. Look for Petro Canada at junction of Hwy 215 and 14. Veer slightly left to continue on the 215, past the arena, up a hill and then veer right onto Hwy 236. Look for Quarry Road on your left, then Scotch Village sign on your right. Less than 10 minutes away you will find us. We are on the right, the first house immediately after Vaughn Road. If you see a sign for Mosherville you’ve gone a little too far.
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Activities: Enjoy a stroll through our small mixed farm and meet our chickens and rooster, Mr. Rockafeather. Meet our heritage breed pigs, Bernie and Copper, and you may even see piglets. Take a walk through our high bush blueberry field, which although closed for the summer, may surprise you with a berry or two that hasn’t been picked. We have various pork products, whole free range chicken, eggs, frozen blueberries and a limited supply of honey available for purchase. Cash, debit and credit accepted. We look forward to sharing our small farm with you.
