Meet the Overmars…

Farming has always been a way of life for Paul Overmars. The youngest of 10 children, his family immigrated from Holland and began a dairy farming business which eventually grew to include egg farming as well.

Continuing the family legacy, Paul and his wife Andrea took over the egg farm in 1987. Today their St. Andrews acreage is home to over 23000 hens – producing 7.5 million eggs per year. The Overmars farm also includes a Federally Registered grading station whereby they grade all their own eggs before distribution to local markets and grocery chains.

Simply put, the Overmars love what they do. Through pride of workmanship and the use of best practices, Paul, Andrea and their two children have created both a home and livelihood, all while providing Nova Scotians with the highest quality of food products.
