Open house at “The Sugar Shack”, sampling of maple products, beautiful award winning managed forest wagon ride, Christmas tree touring and viewing during wagon ride. Maple products available for sale.

2. R&R Corkum Farm

 Travel South of Kings street, Bridgewater. Follow the Lahave River through Conquerall Bank to Pleasantville on the Lake Centre to 1571 New Cumberland Rd. R&R Corkum Farm is about 20 minutes from Bridgewater.

Activities:
 Meet farmers that produce beef in Lunenburg County. Tour the farm, viewing rotational grazing of cow/calves on grass (approximately 30 cow/calf pairs) and a wrapped hay/haylage demonstration. This beef is raised for the consumer and farm markets with no growth hormones or chemicals.

3. Indian Garden Farms

4. Chestnut Hill Farm

From Exit 26 Hwy 103, turn right at Tim Hortons, follow road to Spencer’s Garden Centre and veer right. Follow through Birchtown and to Shore Rd – sign says Shore Rd, Igomar, Gunning Cove and follow to 1244 Shore Rd.

Activities:
Walking tour of various animals, orchard and pond. Bee talks and opportunity to visit hives. BBQ for public, honey and eggs for sale, and general question and answer.

5. Wild Rose Farm

Activities: Taste testing, 4 wheeler wagon rides, farm tours, hay fort, check out our cows, chickens and alpacas. We were the N.S. Environmental Plan Stewardship Award Winner for 2013.

6. Dempsey Corner Orchards

Activities: Feed and play with baby animals, U-pick will be open for plums, pears, corn on the cob, tomatoes and beans. You can dig potatoes and carrots or watch the harvester.You can learn about eggs and find out why ours are green, blue and pink. Hop on the wagon and visit our history!

Activities: U-Pick apples, pumpkin, squash, others as seasonal. Wagon rides and our bakery will be open. Also try our Valley Hard Cider!

9. Grand Pré Wines

Take a trip to our apple orchard and enjoy the following: Apple picking demos at 11am and 1pm, Bounce castle and face painting 11am-3pm, stay and enjoy some apple cider tasting and apple, pumpkin and squash picking in our U-pick.

11. Meander River Farm

 Free orchard tour and view of the honey observation gallery. U-pick squash, apples and possibly other fruits for a fee. See close to 50 varieties of apples!

13. Ebbett’s Meadow Brook Farm

Activities:
 Hay wagon ride out over the rolling hills to visit with the cattle in the fields. BBQ and corn boil, tour the farm buildings and have an opportunity to visit with various farm animals including baby chicks. Retail farm market open

14. West River Holsteins

Activities: Join us at our dairy facility for a tour, with static displays, and activities for the kids. Guided tours on the hour but visit throughout the scheduled hours for self-guided tours and displays.

15. Activities: Meet the farm animals, see artisanal wool craft demonstrations, tour the modern woolen mill and farm shop featuring Greta’s jams and jellies, blankets, sheepskins, wool comforters,died and natural wool supplies for knitting, felting and batting, and more!

16. Lahave River Berry Farm Inc.

 From Bridgewater head towards Lunenburg and turn right onto Hwy 332, dirve 7.7km, there is a sign on the front yard.

Activities: Tour of our Haskapberry orchard and nursery, while explainig how haskaps are grown and their health benefits. Greenhouse tour and vegetable garden. We will answer questions, give advice, recommend fertilizers, and talk about wildlife control products that we sell.

17. Swinkels Bee Products

Activities: Take a tour to the the basics of operation of a bee farm. Go through the Honey House, starting with managing the bees, learn the extraction process and how we bottle the honey. Also see where we store our bees!

Activities:
 Tours of animals, gardens, greenhouses and raised beds. We will be showing permaculture techniques, herb gathering/usage and more. Our farm store will be open, and there will be a picnic area set up and safe play area for kids!

20. Sainte Famille Wines Ltd.

22.Blueberry Acres

Directions to Farm: North off 101,exit 12(Big Stop); go straight through three sets of traffic lights,then one stop sign on Middle Dyke Rd; turn left at the next stop and go 100ft; turn right(still on Middle Dyke Road); approximately 1km further, Blueberry Acres is on the left
Hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Activities: Blueberry U-pick Experience (may be bused to the field; depends what field is ready to be picked). Blueberry Acres has boxes (hold 10-12lbs) that are used in the field and to carry you’re berries home in.  Bring a container (I.e. 2 L ice cream) with strap (I.e. long shoe laces or  scarf) to pick the berries in off the bushes before dumping into box. Food will be available on site, provided by “Blue Bistro”.

 

23.Wild Mountain Farm

Directions to Farm: If you’re coming to the farm, we are on the shore of the Bay of Fundy,25 minutes North of Kentville. From Kentville go downtown, and go over the Cornwallis River(Big green bridge), go through the lights and follow Hwy 359 to Aldershot Steam Mill and Centreville and go up over the North Mountain. At the top of the hill take the second right(Gospel Road), Then take your first left (gravel road called Long Beach Rd) follow Long Beach Road for 4.5km until you come to a sharp corner at the Bay of Fundy shore. Here, Long Beach Road turns into Old Baxters Mill Road, and our driveway goes in between the two road signs, to the left. You will see a bright yellow mailbox, the drive is long with a steep hill on it!
Hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Activities: Visit our patured pigs and beef cows, along with our quacky ducks, our clucky hens and our little Jersey milk cow “KC”. Lance will explain our Local GoodNS food delivery to homes in HRM and Southwest Nova. We’ll have our pit BBQ going for anyone who wants to pre-order their favourite cuts on our website and we’ll cook them up (www.wildmountainfarm.ca). We are on the shore of the Bay of Fundy, which is always cool on a hot day in the Valley, so plan time for a beach walk!

24.Wysmykal Farm

Activities: Join us for guided tours of the farm. There will be lot of tasty veggies to sample!

25. Terra Beata Farms

Directions: Drive from Lunenburg towards Blue Rocks. After 2km turn left onto Heckman’s Island. After 1km, turn right onto Monk Point Road, Farm is the first driveway on the left after 0.5km.
Hours: 10am-5pm
Activities:  Free guided walking tours of the bog as well as the berry cleaning line and our ‘cranberry kitchen’ processing facility. Free cranberry appetizers for sampling.

26. Dabro Farms Inc.

Activities:  At 105 Gaspereau River Rd. visit our farm market, farm animal petting area, hay ride, and BBQ hosted by Gaspereau Church. At 237 Gaspereau River Rd., visit our dairy operation.
